Woodbridge hosted Oakville Blue Devils on a very hot afternoon at Vaughan Grove yesterday. Woodbridge came out of the game and never slowed down, having three crucial chances saved before Samantha Murphy would find the back of the net to make it 1-0 off a Maaja Fischer corner kick.
In the second half, Oakville started to put on the pressure, and Woodbridge, down a few players to injuries, had to rely on the goalkeeper Sabrina Spano to make some crucial saves to keep the lead. However, in 90th minute, a defensive mistake left striker Demi Maraudas alone in front of the net and she made no mistake, finding the equalizer for Oakville and gifting them a much needed tie. An unfortunate result for Woodbridge, who need to regroup and hope for better luck this coming weekend.
